INTERIORS&DECOR

One Room Challenge

So I decided to enter the ORC (One Room Challenge). There are 20 designers and many guest participants. I’m telling you there are some amazing designs being created!

YOU MUST FOLLOW ALONG!

The space I’m challenging myself in is kind of a difficult space. The space is shaped as an L with the main living area on one end, a reading area on the other end, and in the small part of the L there is a dining room. The space is a bit of a challenge as it’s long and kinda narrow. Furniture placement always seems to be a struggle as well as individualizing the areas.

The space use to be dark and moody. The walls were black and now replaced with a greige color. Light fixtures have been changed out to reflect the styles I love. I’ve added pinks, browns, and plums. Texture is a must!

This is the 2nd week of the journey, so there are 4 more weeks left. As the weeks pass I’ll take you along. Honestly, I’ve done a lot already, but there is so much more to be done.

Goals for next week….

I will be papering above the board and batten. Painting the front doors, but I’m yet unsure of the color I will chose. I’ll eventually be removing the closet doors bilaterally that flank the sides. The interior of the closets will include areas to sit with baskets below and above for storage. I hate closet doors! I’ll also add a different rug to the entry space to warm it up.
Wallpaper that will go above board and batten. It’s from Spoonflower.
Some color ideas for the front door.
Closet inspiration!
The areas of the L. The living area, reading nook, and dining area.. as well as the entry space.
The space where the reading nook was previously.

There are many more things that are happening in this space. However, goal for this week is to finish the entryway!

I hope you continue to follow along on my ORC journey❤️
